Ministers and ambassadors from all corners of Europe – and also a new ambassador for Europe

Today, Political Festival of Europe welcomes you to the third Festival Day with music from Emmelie de Forest and debates on migration, green energy, digitalisation and much more.

Yesterday’s debate programme covered a variety of topics, such as foreign policy, human rights and green transformation, with sustainable food production and energy and security policy on the agenda.

Ambassadors and ministers from Albania, Belgium, Denmark, France, Georgia, Latvia, Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic could be seen at the debates, and in the cityscape chatting with guests on the cobbled streets.

In other parts of the town, street activities were the highlight with flips on the skate rink and workshops showcasing creative pieces of children’s travel experiences and understanding of Europe.

A further highlight for children and families was the arrival of – a new ambassador for Mariager – Ivan the Troll. He was welcomed by, among others, Minister, Flemming Møller Mortensen with an opening speech surrounded by forest, children and families.

Yesterday also brought a number of concerts on the various music tages, where you could experiencewith Liga Latina, Bjonko & Balkan Beat Band, Mizgin Band, and not least Swedish Finnegan’s Hell, who closed the show on the Europe Stage in style, after having set off a Celtic folk-rock party.

The high spirits continue today, where Eurovision Song Contest winner Emmelie de Forest will be performing at the Europe Stage. After the concert, Emmelie can be found debating women’s opportunities in the music world.

Political Festival of Europe is free to attend, is located in a charming and beautiful environment, and offers a range of exciting experiences today, including guided city tours, orienteering and personal chats with politicians in partner tents. We can only recommend dropping by either today or tomorrow while the interesting and versatile programme continues. See you there!

Political Festival of Europe is a central platform for European debates and will take place for the first time from 25 to 28 August 2022 in Mariager. A wide range of debates between European citizens and decision-makers on some of the most pressing issues will take place at the Festival. In addition to the many political events, the Festival will also be a place where visitors can experience music, culture, and food from all over Europe. Our strength in Europe lies in our diversity, but we need a place where we can come together and discuss the future of Europe – that’s why we’re creating the Political Festival of Europe.
