Martin Lemberg-Pedersen, Head of Policy and Documentation at Amnesty International Denmark, is participating in Political Festival of Europe

Political Festival of Europe is a new pan-European democracy festival and will be held for the first time from 25 to 28 August 2022 Mariager, Northern Denmark. The aim of the Festival is to gather citizens and decision-makers from across the continent to strengthen the democratic conversation. Overarching themes that will shape the many activities of the Festival include business, climate, culture, democracy, foreign policy, health and technology. In addition to the many debates that will take place, the Festival is also a place for festivities and cultural celebrations.

Political Festival of Europe is glad to announce the participation of Martin Lemberg-Pedersen, head of Policy and Society in Amnesty International in Denmark. Martin Lemberg-Pedersen will be participating as a speaker in three debates, covering topics such as migration, border security and the threat dictatorships pose to the advancement of democracy.

A rising number of societies are plagued by discrimination, racism, and repressive and totalitarian tendencies. While this situation calls for work to protect inclusion and diversity by European states, the same states also face charges of hypocrisy when it comes to the deadly and discriminatory consequences of their border control for migrants, notably also the collaboration on control and containment with neighbouring, repressive states,

Political Festival of Europe welcomes the participation of Martin Lemberg-Pedersen as a representative of Amnesty International, whose work is highly relevant for the debates that Martin will be participating in. Creating an environment where both citizens, politicians, businesses and organizations such as Amnesty International can meet and learn from each other is key to the success of the Festival,

Martin Lemberg-Pedersen, chef for Politik og Samfund i Amnesty International Danmark, deltager pĂĄ Political Festival of Europe
