Òscar García Agustín (professor, AAU), Rasmus Andresen (MEP, Greens) and Anke Spoorendonk (Former Minister Schleswig/Holstein) will meet at Political Festival of Europe to debate about the protection of minorities in Europe.
Human rights, democracy and the rule of law are the fundamental values of the EU. However, recent years have shown that democratic challenges remain in Europe, including in what concerns the protection of persons belonging to minority groups. As a consequence, Europe is facing a time where important questions about values are on the agenda.
The debate about this topic will take place on Sunday 28 August at 13.00-14.00 in Mariager, and will moderated by Mick Scholtka, Vice President in Academic Affairs at National Union of Students in Denmark.
Democracy is an overarching theme in Mariager
Political Festival of Europe is built around a total of seven themes that form the basis of the Festival’s content this year. In addition to democracy, the themes are business, climate, culture, foreign policy, health, and technology.
