Political Festival of Europe is looking for one or more interns to help plan and promote the first European Democracy Festival in Mariager.

The festival is set to take place from the 25 – 28 August. The positions are for full-time unpaid interns, who would join the work of the secretariat, located in the old town hall in Mariager.

Duration:

We are looking for interns that would be able to start their internship around 3 July. The internship period would last throughout July-August-September, with a possibility for further extension.  I.e., we are looking for people that would be interested in contributing to the planning, execution, and subsequent assessment of the festival.

Your tasks would be a mix of:

  • Assisting the political team with planning of debates, writing debate descriptions, reaching out to politicians, NGOs and the like, but also tasks such as coordination of debates
  • Assisting the communications manager with outreach to journalists and influencers across Europe, with the management and upkeep of our website, with drafting a variety of written material, such as press releases, news and other information products, with designing various print material and with creating creative content for SoMe
  • Assisting with ad-hoc tasks in the secretariat

It is possible for us to discuss which tasks that would be of specific interest to you and your profile.

Who you are:

  • You are currently studying a master’s degree within the field of political-, social science, communication, tourism, languages, culture or something along those lines.
  • You have an interest in democracy, citizen empowerment, European Affairs (not limited to the EU), culture and in the promotion and facilitation of democratic debates.
  • You are creative, driven to learn new skills, and a go-getter.
  • You speak and write English fluently; Danish is not a requirement. Fluency in other European languages besides English will be considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office, IT-knowledge and a flair for design and creative content are considered an asset.

Who we are – and how we work

We are a small secretariat which works out of Mariager’s old town hall in the center of town. We work with a very horizontal structure, and we are always welcoming of good and new ideas.

Due to our event deadline, we work in a fast-paced environment, but there is always room for ‘hygge’, laughter and social activities.

Due to the nature of the association’s work, work from home is kept at a minimum. The secretariat will not be able to refund transport expenses.

It is also possible to engage with the staff of Political Festival of Europe in regard to internship reports for your university study.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Communications Manager Stephanie Höglund on +45 31 41 24 29  or via email sh@pfoe.org or to Political Assistant Bolette Halkjær Skov Sørensen on +45 70 60 50 72 or via email bhss@pfoe.org if you have any questions about the internships.

Deadline for applications is 20 June.

Applications should be sent to info@pfoe.org. Required documents: CV, application letter and creative portfolio (if applicable). Please indicate “Internship” in the subject line.
